Leisure in Abbotsford BC

Indoors and out, Abbotsford's an active city. When it comes to recreation, Abbotsford is a city of abundance.

Its public parks and recreation facilities offer a range of opportunities.

Leading the way is Abbotsford Exhibition Park, a 75-acre park with a variety of facilities suitable for recreational, agricultural, sporting and cultural events.

The complex includes Rotary Stadium, which has hosted the Canadian Track and Field Championships and the Western Canada Summer Games.

That's joined by the Abbotsford Recreation Centre, which offers a pool and Olympic-size ice rink as well as the Ice Experience specialty skating rink. Its counterpart in Clearbrook is the Matsqui Recreation Centre, with pool, waves and waterslide, as well as an arena.

MSA Arena, the home of Abbotsford's Junior B hockey Pilots and Senior B lacrosse Bandits, offers an ice surface and meeting rooms.

The latest flagship of arenas is the Abbotsford Sports and Entertainment Center! Now home of one of BC's three professional hockey teams and AHL franchise to the Calgary Flames, the Abbotsford Heat has been a great addition to the Fraser Valley. An amazing facility which hosts not only hockey but many top name acts in the music industry as well.

The city also boasts two outdoor pools: Centennial pool and stray park and Matsqui Village pool.

With the city's natural beauty evident all around, it's also a natural place for outdoor recreation.

Trails offer ample opportunities for walkers and hikers alike, while the city's many parks offer services ranging from simply green space to ball fields, horseshoe pitches and innumerable playgrounds.

Whether you're a leisurely walker or an extreme mountain biker, there's a place for you in this city of natural abundance.
